The LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, queer, intersex and asexual) community has had a lot of press in the last few years, with non-normative relationships and status’ becoming more established and welcome in the world today. Most recently, we have seen Bruce Jenner make the transformation to a woman as Caitlyn Jenner, witnessed an abundance of lesbian sex on screen with Orange is the New Black and seen the beautiful relationship of Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez blossom, before sadly ending.
However, there are still many misconceptions about being a lesbian, and how lesbian sex works. Many people think that lesbian intercouse cannot be classed as ‘sex’ as it does not involve a penis, and some think that lesbians spend all day every day …ahem…’squirting’. We are going to clear that up for you now (pun intended) by revealing the lies and truths of lesbian intercourse.
Lesbian sex is basically just scissoring
Many people believe that this is the most common way, and the most normal way, for lesbians to engage in sex. They see it as the lesbian version of missionary. Not true. While it may be on your screens, in your magazines and in your fantasies, only 40% of lesbian women have scissoring as part of their regular sex life.
Squirting happens all of the time
Squirting is a hot topic in the sex world. Is it female ejactulation, is it pee? Who knows. What we do know is that it is a gush of fluid during an orgasm. If you have ever watched pornography, you will find that almost all lesbian tapes involve women squirting all over the place. Yet, in reality, only 32% of lesbian women can say that they have squirted.
Lesbian women masturabate more. In fact, 44% of lesbian women masturabate multiple times a week. The largest number of women in this group lies between 18 and 24.
More talking means more orgasms
Studies conducted showed that women in lesbian relationships communicated more than their heterosexual relationship comparisons. More communication, especially more communication about sex, means better sex. Those who talked about sex a few times a month had a whopping 86% orgasm rate!
THE THINGS TO MAKE YOU JEALOUS
Women in queer relationships are having more sex than hetero normative relationships. Almost 30% of women are having sex multiple times a week! Those in lesbian relationships are more satisfied with their sex lives as they are having sex more often, and to a better quality.
Lesbians sure do have a lot of orgasms. Only 4.4% of lesbians have said that they never orgasm during sex. 20.4% said that they orgasm every time, 20.6 orgasm multiple times and 36.8% orgasm at least once during sex. That results in 77.8% of women in lesbian relationships having orgasms. I will take those odds any day!
Well, it seems that lesbians really do have it all. Not only do they have more sex, more orgasms, but they also have longer sex. Heterosexual sex lasts around 14 minutes on average. Lesbian sex? Well, 47% say their sex lasts 30-60 minutes, and 26% have sessions lasting 1-2 hours. Hours!! A girl can only dream…
